Voice AI: How I “Wrote” 2 Articles Driving to the Physio

I was driving to the physio and suddenly had an idea for an article. I couldn't take notes, and I didn't want the idea to disappear before I got home, so I started talking to ChatGPT.
Thirty minutes later, I had two article drafts.
They still needed editing afterwards, but there I was — turning what would normally be “dead time” into productive time.
And honestly? It was fun.
Obviously, don't use your phone while actively driving, use a safe hands-free setup.
So, how did I do it?
I used ChatGPT's voice conversation feature. I'm not sure how other AI platforms work, but the process was surprisingly simple.
I told ChatGPT my idea. It responded with suggestions and questions. We started talking. ChatGPT would read parts of the article back to me, and I could respond with things like:
"Change this."
"I don't like that section."
"Add an example here."
"What about this idea?"
"Let's make this part shorter."
"Add a new content block about this topic."
It became a conversation rather than a writing session. And that's what I find exciting about voice AI for small business owners. You don't always need more time. Sometimes you just need a different way to use the time you already have.
What could you brainstorm with voice AI?
Pretty much anything that's taking up space in your head:
A new business strategy
A new product or service
An article, blog post or social media idea
A difficult email you need to reply to
A difficult conversation you need to have
An issue you're having in your business
A customer problem you don't know how to solve
Ideas for improving your customer experience
A new marketing campaign
A business decision you're struggling with
Ideas for your next promotion
A presentation, proposal or business plan
Questions you want to explore before making a decision
You don't even need to know exactly what you want to say. You can start with a messy thought and let the conversation help you develop it.
When could you use it?
Whenever your brain is working but your hands aren't.
Walking, cooking dinner, waiting for an appointment, sitting in the car between jobs, or lying on the sofa when you're too tired to type – these can all become opportunities to brainstorm.
That's the beauty of voice AI.
